_Shortman's Jar

Hello! I’m _Shortman. Maybe known as The-Shortman to you, or simply just Short.

I’m a physics student (@university since 2025), computer hardware enthusiast (since 2023), and selfhoster (chronic incurable linux user).

Although, I’m probably most well-known for the work that I’ve done for the Minecraft tech modpack, Create: Astral.

This is my personal jar. Some call it a garden. Either way, it’s kinda like a disorganised little corner of the web for me to dump things in. It’s always changing and never in a finished state. Exa explains it a bit better than I would.

Why call it a jar, then?

I got the idea of having a garden jar from Exa, who got the idea from quat. Thanks to those two for giving me thie idea to do this, and especially thanks to quat for licensing under CC BY-SA so I can steal some of their code. I thought the idea of a garden was pretty cool, and maybe you will too.

This site is built with 11ty, a pretty neat static site generator.

It also uses djot for most of its pages, a somewhat familiar yet refreshing cousin of markdown. I encourage you to give it a try, it’s quite cool.
